The Linux operating system company Linaro, which has been growing fast in recent years, said Tuesday it had booked a $1 billion profit for the year.
Linaro, a spin-off of the Linux Foundation, has been expanding its reach with new projects such as its Raspberry Pi line of laptops and its open source operating system Ubuntu.
Linarabs CEO Chris Harrison said that the firm had booked $1,566 million in revenue, bringing its total operating profit to $1 million.
Linux is the first major open source project that Linaro has partnered with.
The Linux Foundation says it is the largest open source community in the world, with more than 120 million users.
