Rockford will face off again in the fourth round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday.
The Fila shutout shutout was the fourth of its six regular season games.
The Fila is 3-2 on the season against FSU and 1-1 on the road.
Fila also beat Indiana State on Saturday night.
Rock, which is 4-1 at home this season, has won four straight games.
Rockford (12-12, 8-12 ACC) was on the verge of winning its third straight game Saturday night when Fila stormed back with a 5-1 run that included a 3/3 scoreless frame.
Filias first two goals came off a pass from Terese Gipson to Deontayo Williams.
Gipsson was credited with the second of the goals.
The two teams played to a 2-2 tie with Fila leading 2-1 heading into the third period.
Filtas last goal was a shorthanded tally by Williams on a 2nd period power play goal.
The shot by Fili as time expired put the game out of reach for Fila.
The shutout put the Fila back on track for its fourth consecutive win.
The second-place Fila extended its win streak to four games with a 3:19.2 shutout.
It is the second-longest win streak in school history and tied for third-longstest at the Fazas home arena.
Filia’s previous win streak was six games.
The two teams last faced off at Rock last Saturday.
Rock had a 2.3-game winning streak at home.
The game was postponed due to rain.
The Rockford-Fila matchup will mark the fourth meeting between the two teams.
Filas won the first meeting, 2-3, at the Rockford Civic Center on Dec. 12, 2018.
The teams have not met in the NCAA tournament since 2008.
