When opening files in a zip file, the file manager uses an algorithm to determine if the file exists or not.
The files are then added to the folder.
There are many file managers available for Linux and macOS, but most of them don’t support zipping files.
A simple way to open a file in a file manager is to use the command zipper.
zipper opens a folder containing files.
If the command was not preceded by a / or ?, the files will be opened as zipped files.
For example, to open the file “example.txt” in the file explorer window: zipper /example.zip /tmp/file.txt example.txt This command will open the example.zip file in the Finder.
You can also use zipper in the command line with commands such as zipper -l /tmp/${path}.txt which will open a directory named “tmp/$1”.
This is handy for viewing your folder structure.
The file manager has a number of other ways to open and delete files.
You might use the zsh command zz delete to delete files, or zz close to close the file.
You also can use zz rz to open an archive file, or zip file to open it. zipping with the command prompt zipping a file opens it in a new folder with the contents of the file in it.
For more information, see How to Open a Folder with a Zip File.
If you want to close a file, use zy /tmp.
You may need to type the command to close or open the new folder.
zy zp opens the folder containing the zipped file.
zz zp zp zo opens the zapped file.
The zp command closes the zpped file.
