“I like the idea of it being vegan because it’s so much easier and quicker to make than a regular filo, and I think it’s just easier and cheaper to make,” said Lisa Hodge, a chef and author of the cookbook “The Veg Food Blog”.
“I can have the fila and make it a little bigger or make it smaller, it’s a little more complicated, but the end result is the same.”

Chick-fries are a popular snack in the United States, and have become a staple in many countries around the world, including Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the UK.
They are popular among vegans who have reduced the amount of meat they eat and are looking to replace the meat in their diets with a more plant-based option.
They have been available in most US fast food outlets since 2008, but many vegan restaurants and cafes also sell the vegan versions.
